Join our team as an Employer Account Officer

The Isle of Wight College is seeking a proactive and dynamic Employer Account Officer to drive apprenticeship recruitment and short course development. This key role involves building and nurturing relationships with local employers to identify training needs, secure apprenticeship opportunities, and support the delivery of high-quality short courses. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a good understanding of the apprenticeship landscape, and a passion for connecting education with industry needs- knowledge of the construction industry would be beneficial.

About the Role

As an Employer Account Officer, you’ll be the friendly face and trusted point of contact for local employers. You’ll work closely with businesses to understand their recruitment needs, promote training and employment initiatives, and create opportunities that make a real difference.

Whether it’s hosting employer events, coordinating apprenticeship placements, or supporting job fairs — you’ll bring energy, empathy, and excellence to everything you do. 

What You’ll Be Doing

Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, employer engagement and lead generation.

Promote apprenticeships, adult learning and commercial training programmes to employers.

Build and manage employer relationships, providing ongoing account management and workforce planning support.

Identify employer training needs and develop tailored learning solutions.

Meet sales, recruitment and income targets through successful conversion of leads and enquiries.

Support apprenticeship recruitment, vacancy management and employer engagement throughout the learner journey.

Collaborate with curriculum teams to develop employer-led training, apprenticeships and qualifications.

Support marketing campaigns, create promotional content and follow up employer leads promptly.

Deliver employer-focused training, short courses and apprenticeship programmes where required.

Encourage work placement opportunities and strengthen links with employers, partners and community organisations.

Represent the College at external events, employer boards and networking activities.

Contribute to projects, business development initiatives and other duties as required.
