Christ the King College is a joint Church of England and Catholic College on the Isle of Wight, providing a Christian education underpinned by Gospel values and reflecting both Church of England and Catholic traditions. It operates under the auspices of both the Church of England and Catholic Dioceses of Portsmouth. The school has over 1,100 students on roll, including a Sixth Form College of about 200 students. It is a well-established comprehensive school, which is well supported by parents and highly respected in the community.  

We are looking for a motivated individual with an interest in and passion for Science and the desire to achieve a professionally recognised qualification as a Lab Technician. The successful candidate will be required to assist with a range of duties as allocated by the Senior Science Technician. You will be expected to work under supervision and independently, carrying out tasks as they are assigned, and assisting the Science Department with day-to-day duties. You will be studying towards the Level 3 Lab Technician qualification with CSR Scientific Training, fully funded and supported by the College. This will be a fixed term contract for the 18-month duration of the apprenticeship programme. Once qualified, you will have the opportunity to be employed by the College as a Science Technician and will also be able to obtain further qualifications and potentially progress to a Senior Science Technician role in the future.
