Leading hospice charity, the Mountbatten Group, is seeking a communications assistant to help craft and share messages about vital end-of-life care and the fundraising that makes it possible.

We’re delighted to be able to offer this position as a fixed-term, six-month contract, reporting to the Head of Communications.

A creative self-starter, with great writing skills and a good working knowledge of social media platforms will join our small team, working across Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Mountbatten Hampshire.

You could be based either side of the Solent, but regular travel between the two sites will be required as part of a well-established routine, alongside colleagues from a variety of departments.

The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of Canva and will understand the power of social media, including TikTok. The right person for the role will be someone who enjoys discovering and telling stories, through press releases and website content. Training can be given, but an understanding of video editing would be a bonus.

This role requires flexibility and some out-of-hours working (time-in-lieu will be given).

For an informal chat, please email Lucy Morgan, Head of Comms, on [email protected]

Main duties:

  • Assist with taking photos, making videos and social media content, conducting interviews and writing content (press releases/website copy)
  • Assist at events, gathering content and posting on social media platforms
  • Assist with day-to-day operation of the communications department
  • Oversee the set-up and running of some events, at both Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Mountbatten Hampshire (including out of hours)
