The Island’s oldest attraction, Shanklin Chine has been carved over thousands of years and is rich in history and heritage. A popular destination for visitors from across the UK and beyond, it offers a peaceful and memorable escape into nature.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Tearoom & Gift Shop Manager to lead our front-of-house team and ensure an exceptional experience for every guest who walks through our doors.

What You’ll Do

As Tearoom & Gift Shop Manager, you will:

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the tearoom and shop, ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness
• Lead, train, and motivate a small team of assistants and seasonal staff
• Welcome and engage with customers to create a warm, inviting atmosphere
• Manage stock levels, supplier orders, and deliveries to ensure smooth operations
• Prepare and serve teas, coffees, cakes, and light refreshments when required
• Handle cashing up, banking, and financial reporting in coordination with senior management
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and food hygiene standards at all times
• Work collaboratively with the wider Shanklin Chine team to enhance the visitor experience

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a café, tearoom, retail or similar hospitality setting
• Leadership and organisational skills
• A warm, professional approach with a passion for excellent customer service
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
• Basic food hygiene training (Level 2 minimum) additional qualifications desirable
• Confidence in using POS systems and managing daily cash operations
• A hands-on attitude and willingness to support the team in all areas as needed
