Bakery Shop Assistant / Delivery Driver - Scarrots Lane Bakery

We are looking for friendly and dedicated sales assistant/delivery driver, with a full driving licence, who can provide outstanding customer service to join our Scarrots Lane bakery team! 

You must have a full and clean driving licence for this role. 

Salary £12.21 per hour - Part-time hours to be discussed. 

Main tasks and duties

  • A mix of shifts both in the shop and out delivering to businesses
  • Helping customers in the shop with their purchases
  • Handling cash payments and operating the till system ensuring transactions are accurately entered
  • Answering the telephone and dealing with phone enquiries
  • Driving our sandwich van to various businesses on our delivery route and selling goods to customers.
  • Delivering stock to wholesale customers   
  • Making up sandwiches/rolls for sale
  • Packing, sealing and labelling of items
  • Preparation of pies other bakery items
  • Driving our delivery van, delivering wholesale orders to work premises.
  • Controlling stock by:
  • Checking items are not damaged and are hygienically packaged
  • Checking sell by dates when relevant
  • Stock rotation – ensuring older stock is displayed to the front and newer stock at the back
  • Good product displays
  • Cleaning shop areas on a daily basis
  • Check the temperatures of the chiller unit and freezers and recording the temperature in the Temperature book
  • Other actions that support the shop supervisor to ensure that we meet environmental health and safety at work requirements.
  • Cashing up tills at the end of the day
  • Getting change from the bank when required
  • Any other duties that support the running of the business

This is a varied role and you will be trained to cover all areas of the business.
