We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Homeless Reduction Officer to join our supportive, dynamic, and knowledgeable housing team.
This role is central to ensuring the Council meets its duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 (HRA). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welfare rights and relevant legislation, alongside experience in assessing and making informed statutory homelessness decisions. You will play a key role in delivering advice, guidance, support, and advocacy across a wide range of housing needs.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working in a housing advice or homelessness setting, or be able to demonstrate relevant transferable skills, knowledge, and a genuine passion for the role
- Be able to effectively manage a caseload, with a commitment to understanding the complex factors that contribute to homelessness
- Demonstrate excellent communication, assessment, and relationship-building skills
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations, strengthening existing relationships and developing new ones
