Soho Sound House is a family run independent music business operating across publishing, production music and recorded music. Our group of companies manage an extensive and diverse catalogue of music used by broadcasters, production companies, brands and creators around the world. Headquartered in Soho, London, this role is based on the Isle of Wight and offers the opportunity to become a key member of a close-knit team, taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function while contributing to the strategic financial management of a growing music business.

We are seeking a highly organised, detail-driven In-House Accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounting, payroll, royalty administration, tax compliance and financial operations for our small group of businesses. This role suits someone who is happy working independently, is confident owning processes end-to-end, and enjoys working across accounts, royalties, payroll and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping and financial records, including handling depreciation/amortisation, prepayments, month end and year end routines
• Management of all tax related issues including VAT, withholding tax and CT61 forms
• Processing and reimbursing employee expenses
• Preparation of all files required for external accountants for statutory accounts and liaising and responding to any queries raised by them
• Manage cash balances and invest surplus funds to optimise liquidity and financial returns
• Handling all accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
• Handle all payroll tasks including monthly payroll, employee benefits, pension contributions and end of year reporting
• Manage all royalties received income, including logging income and corresponding statements, sending invoices, chasing up payments and handling any withholding tax requirements
• Onboarding of new composers / publishers into our systems including collecting tax and payment information
• Distribution of royalty statements, payments of royalties and handling any VAT or withholding tax requirements

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Bookkeeping experience using accounting software (Sage 50 Accounts / Sage Payroll preferable but not essential)
• Solid understanding of VAT, PAYE, withholding tax and general UK tax compliance
• Experience running payroll end-to-end
• Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent technical and systems skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a highly logical approach to problem-solving
• Comfortable improving processes and maintaining structured financial systems
• Proactive, reliable and able to take ownership of financial operations
