Position: Site Mechanic / Mechanical Engineer
Location: Blackgang Chine, Isle of Wight
Full-time | 41.5 hours/week | Includes rostered weekends & holidays

Blackgang Chine is on the lookout for a talented Site Mechanic/Mechanical Engineer to join our vibrant Engineering Team. If you thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and love the idea of keeping thrilling rides and magical attractions running smoothly, this is your moment!

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a key player in our Engineering Team, you’ll help ensure the safety, reliability, and excitement of our rides and attractions. Your day-to-day will include:

• Performing planned and preventative maintenance on rides and equipment
• Responding swiftly to breakdowns to keep the fun going for our guests
• Completing safety checks and documentation in line with HSE guidance (HSG175)
• Supporting our winter strip-down and inspection programme to meet annual certification deadlines

What We’re Looking For:

We’re after a mechanically-minded problem solver with a passion for engineering and a love for theme parks. Ideally, you’ll have:

• A City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Experience with mechanical/electrical systems, NDT schedules, and diagnostics
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• A background in heavy industrial or automated environments (FMCG, logistics, airports, or theme parks)
• Confidence using tablets, apps, and digital tools
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
