We are seeking a skilled and motivated approved Electrician will provide advanced electrical expertise for the installation, maintenance and testing of complex electrical systems. You will work with minimal supervision, often leading projects and mentoring junior staff members of apprentices to ensure all work meets current safety regulations and quality standards.
For individual projects, they will report to the assigned Project Manager, however, dependent on experience they could be expected to accept ownership of certain lower valued contracts.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installation work to BS7671.
- Carry out installation, service and repair to variety of low voltage electrical control systems.
- Carry out installation and commissioning of a variety of instrumentation systems, including pressure, levels, temperature and flow.
- Read and interpret schematic drawings, technical drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation requirements.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions.
- Carry out initial verification and periodic inspection and testing to ensure systems are safe and compliant with latest regulations and as required by the Company’s nominated certificating body (NICEIC, ECA etc.)
- Provide written technical reports and other documentation as required by senior engineering professionals.
- PC literate and be able to demonstrate a basic background in IT skills.
- Participate in a call-out rota to cover Clients 24/7 reactive breakdowns
Qualifications & Skill
- Full electrical apprenticeship or qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition
- City and Guilds Inspection and Testing (2391)
- ECS Gold Card
- Ability to organise and manage time effectively
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good PC literacy
- Ability to work well with other teams within the company
