are seeking to recruit a permanent/part-time
Second Relief Ferry Terminal Operative
To work with our current Relief Operative to cover periods of annual leave/training/sickness absence, sometimes at short notice, for a small team responsible for operating the linkspan, taking the lines and tying up the Wightlink ferry, collecting foot passenger tickets, and assisting in general duties in and around the Harbour.
This Second Relief Operative role will be required to cover shifts when the Primary Relief Operative is already providing cover or unavailable. Shift coverage will be irregular, and there is no guarantee of a set number of shifts per week or month. This role is ideal for someone who does not rely on a regular wage and can be flexible in providing cover.
We require someone who is reliable, punctual, flexible and has experience in dealing with members of the general public in a friendly and professional manner.
Full training in the operation of the linkspan and associated duties will be provided.
A two-shift system is in operation covering the hours of 06:00 to 22:15 hours
7 days per week, including Bank Holidays.
