Part Time Marina Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity for a Marina Administrator/Receptionist for a minimum of 2 days a week in our busy marina. In a dynamic role that offers variety and personal development, you will deliver an exceptional customer service experience to a wide range of customers face to face, over the phone and by email.
What You’ll Be Doing
Shepards Marina is a busy resident and visitor marina and dry sailing centre in Cowes. We provide berths afloat for yachts and motorboats, and lift and launch services for keelboats, RIBs and small powerboats.
As part of the marina admin team, you will:
Act as the first point of contact for visitors, customers and telephone enquiries, providing an engaging and efficient customer experience for a variety of customers, partners and local businesses.
- Process marina bookings using our bespoke harbour software.
- Process cash and card transactions.
- Assist with varied administration tasks to support annual mooring and event booking logistics.
Personal Qualities & Skills
You’ll need to be a good team player, flexible and self-motivated, and be happy to deliver the highest levels of customer service. Knowledge of Cowes and an understanding of boats would be an advantage, but not essential. We’re looking for someone with:
- Confidence to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
- Strong numeracy & logic skills
- Great attention to detail who can work accurately and efficiently
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good computers skills and the ability to learn to use our bespoke system
- Flexible availability, to fit into a rota of early and late shifts, including a share of weekends and bank holidays.
- The ability to take on extra shifts to cover staff absences
Working Conditions
The marina office is open 8am to 6pm daily, with extended hours during summer weekends and events. There is an early & late shift each day (eg 8-4, 10-6 or 11-7). The rota includes a mixture of early and late shifts, and weekday & weekend shifts, for each team member.
Minimum of 2 days per week, 7.5 hours a day. Availability to cover holidays and sickness absence is a requirement, which may involve working up to 5 days per week on occasion.
