Are you a proactive, customer-focused professional looking for a varied role in a unique waterfront setting? Join Yarmouth Harbour’s friendly team and play a key part in delivering an excellent experience for berth holders, visitors and the wider harbour community.

This full-time, fixed-term opportunity offers 40 hours per week and runs until 31 December 2027. You’ll join a welcoming team working in a lively harbour environment, with a varied seven-day rota that includes early mornings, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. We’re looking for someone who will enjoy the variety of the role and can bring a flexible approach to their working hours.

As a member of our Harbour Facilities team, you will be a key point of contact for customers and stakeholders, representing Yarmouth Harbour in person, by telephone, email and VHF radio. You will support the efficient day-to-day operation of our busy Harbour Office while consistently delivering a high standard of customer service.

This varied role includes managing berth and water lodge bookings; processing payments and operating the till system; supervising and supporting seasonal Reception and fuel berth staff; ordering fuel, retail stock, cleaning materials and other supplies; and maintaining accurate records. You will help ensure Reception, customer facilities, water lodges and the surrounding areas are clean, tidy and well maintained; monitor cleaning standards; operate the Yar Swing Bridge and fuel berth; carry out required inspections and safety checks; and report faults promptly. You will also welcome water lodge guests, respond to customer enquiries and liaise with colleagues and external organisations as required. Full induction training will be provided.

You will be an excellent communicator with a strong commitment to customer service and the confidence to deal professionally with customers, stakeholders and members of the public across a range of communication channels. You will have effective organisational, administrative, telephone and IT skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and support seasonal staff. As the role is active and includes manual duties, cleaning and outdoor work, you must be physically fit and comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.

We are looking for someone who is punctual, reliable, hardworking, friendly and approachable, with a practical and flexible attitude. Knowledge of the local area and previous experience in a customer-facing, supervisory or facilities-based role would be an advantage.
