Product Support & Development Engineer - Power Device UK Ltd

As a Product Support and Development Engineer, you will support a variety of test equipment in production, design new equipment with a bias towards automation, and provide relevant documentation. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support and fault-find a variety of current test equipment. 

  • Develop new test equipment in-house and with external contractors, focusing on automation and production end use. 

  • Generate documentation such as test procedures, test plans, and reports. 

  • Facilitate new product introduction. 

  • Occasionally travel to customers and suppliers. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: 

 

Essential: 

  • Degree or HND qualified (or equivalent) in Electronics or a similar discipline. 

  • Ability to fault-find electronic circuits and test equipment. 

  • Experience in designing and manufacturing test hardware. 

  • Strong documentation skills. 

  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise work efficiently. 

  • Understanding of production test principles. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good communicator, team player attitude, and an interest in leadership. 

  • Knowledge and application of safety standards in respect to test equipment. 

  • Familiarity with laboratory and workshop safety standards and procedures. 

  • Ability to work proactively and independently. 

  • Desire to use technology to drive efficiency. 

 

Desirable: 

  • Understanding of power supply characteristics. 

  • Experience with Labview and C#. 

  • Ability to use data analysis as an aid to fault finding or test improvement. 

  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Power BI.
