Rheinmetall Electronics UK (REUK) Ltd operates internationally, designing and manufacturing advanced electronics products and systems for the communications, defence, security and government services market.

We are excited to announce that we are building upon the commercial success achieved to date, and have an opportunity to join our rapidly expanding team. 

We are recruiting for a Principle Production Engineer within our Product Development Team.

This will be a very “hands on” role, bridging the Engineering, Production and Quality departments within the company. The focus is transferring new product designs into volume production with efficient and consistent processes, whilst analysing and problem-solving design-related production issues as they occur

Responsibilties

• Supporting and working directly with production team to solve issues as they arise.

• Manage, track and prioritise engineering related production issues.

• Introduction of engineering changes and product improvements into manufacturing.

• Lead the generation of production assembly and test documentation.

• Support the development and roll out of custom production tooling and test equipment.

• Develop and improve product configuration and test processes for volume manufacture.

Must Have Skills

• Experience of working in an electronic manufacturing environment.

• Demonstrable knowledge of setting priorities and working alongside the team to achieve results.

• Good understanding of configuration control principals, as employed in an engineering/manufacturing environment.

• Previous experience of using software tools to track issues.

• Some understanding of electronics fundamentals and/or mechanical packaging for electronic solutions. 

Desirable Skills

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar style role.

• Ideally experience using continuous improvement methods to optimise development/production handovers (Lean, 3P, DFM, DMAIC, etc.)

• Knowledge in one or more of the following technologies would be a benefit:

o Manufacture of embedded electronic and mechatronic hardware design.

o Challenges associated with the design of low volume, and high specification hardware.

• Experience of using PLM and MRP systems.

Personal Attributes

• Ability to multi-task; often providing guidance to others while continuing with own work.

• Able to spot issues early and implement strategies to mitigate them.

• Be able to build strong working relationships across all departments. 

 

Full time 37.5 hrs per wk.

Salary dependant on experience / qualifications
