We have a great opportunity for a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist to join our Production Team at our facility in Ryde on the Isle of Wight. We’re looking for a dedicated individual with experience in a manufacturing environment who can safely set up and operate a variety of CNC and manual machines. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in an award-winning company.
Reporting to: Production Manager
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Wednesday: 07:00 – 17:00, Thursday: 07:00 - 16:30
Job Summary
Safely set up and operate a variety of CNC and manual machines, completing machining to a high standard to contribute to the delivery of a wide range of products.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set & operate machines to produce components on a variety of machine types to include but not limited to CNC Machining Centres & Lathes, manual mills, lathes, & general assembly.
- Produce and manufacture components from drawing specifications and identify where improvements in function, efficiency and quality can be achieved.
- To ensure quality standards are maintained, liaise with colleagues, and report any improvements and suggestions for change to the Production Manager on a regular basis.
- Self-check components made to ensure accuracy and that parts adhere to company standards and drawing specifications.
- Maintain a consistent standard of work and performance in line with Company standards and Health and Safety regulations.
- Perform all duties relating to the position held and additional tasks as directed by the Production Manager.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in setting and operating Lathes and Mills
- Experience working in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of conventional machining principles and numerical controls fundamentals
- Ability to accurately read drawings and layouts
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Ability to manage own time and workload
- Methodical thinker
- Problem solving
- Excellent team player but also confident working solo
- Track record of delivering to tight timescales with focus on customer, quality and delivery
