Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead and expand Chessell Woodyard Ltd’s business operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully generating new business, managing key client relationships, and identifying opportunities for growth in the timber and wood products sector. This role requires strategic thinking, strong sales skills, and a passion for delivering excellent service to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand Chessell Woodyard Ltd’s customer base, particularly within the timber industry and related sectors.
- Relationship Management: Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with key clients, suppliers, and partners to enhance the company's market position.
- Market Research: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand industry trends, customer needs, and potential areas for expansion.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth, focusing on both existing and new markets.
- Customer Experience Excellence: Ensure that the company's services and products meet client expectations and work closely with the operations team to deliver outstanding service.
- Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with clients while ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives.
- Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare regular reports on business development activities, sales forecasts, and market insights for senior management.
- Brand Promotion: Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to increase brand awareness and generate leads and contribute to our digital presence growth.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or in a similar sales role, ideally within the timber, construction, or manufacturing industries.
- Strong understanding of the timber and wood products market.
- Exceptional sales and negotiation skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively in identifying business opportunities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented approach to work.
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- A valid driving license and willingness to travel as required.
