Job Title: Maintenance Person

Location: Victoria House Care Home 

Hours: Part-time 

Contract: Temporary (to cover long-term sickness)

Job Overview:

We are looking to recruit a reliable and skilled Maintenance Person to join our care home on a part-time, temporary basis to cover long-term sickness. This role is vital in ensuring the home remains safe, well-maintained and comfortable for our residents, visitors and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs within the care home
• Undertaking regular health & safety checks and basic compliance tasks
• Responding promptly to maintenance requests and faults
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance
• Liaising with external contractors when required
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
• Maintaining accurate records of work completed

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Previous maintenance experience (ideally in a care or similar setting)
• Good knowledge of health & safety requirements
• Ability to carry out basic plumbing, and general repairs
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently
• Good communication skills and a professional, friendly approach

Desirable:

• Experience working within a care home or healthcare environment
• Awareness of safeguarding and infection control (training can be provided)
