Main Purpose of Role:
This role is responsible for the provision of the Isle of Wight stream railway’s Estates, supporting the maintenance and improvement of our estate. You will work closely with the estates team to ensure our facilities are well maintained, safe and aligned with our heritage standards
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of railway buildings, platforms and surrounding grounds
- Support the Estates Supervisor in daily tasks and projects, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and report any maintenance needs
- Collaborate with volunteers and contractors on various projects and maintenance tasks
- Assist with special events and exhibitions, maintaining a clean and attractive environment for visitors
- Helping with minor repairs, painting and general upkeep of estate facilities
About You:
We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals who:
- Have previous, proven experience in an Estates or maintenance role
- Have a good level of physical stamina as the role involves outdoor work in varied weather conditions.
- Have flexibility to work varied hours including weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Are highly organised with a strong attention to detail.
- Are willing to learn, develop, and support continuous improvement
