Job Description:

Working as part of the REUK team and reporting to the Head of IT and Facilities, this role will be responsible for day-to-day management and support of the company’s IT and communications infrastructure.

We are seeking an experienced IT professional with demonstrable experience in the planning and specification, configuration, optimisation and management of a diverse array of systems and network infrastructures.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role or consultancy which will have provided deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Windows Server (including clustering), SQL Server, Network Topology, SonicWall Firewalls, Digital Certificates/Encryption, MS365 enterprise rollouts involving Entra, Sharepoint, Exchange SE.

This role will be pivotal in ensuring the stability, security, and the effectiveness of our IT environment.

REUK is also a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rheinmetall Group and is called upon to offer in-house expertise and comment on Division or even Group level IT and communications topics, from a UK perspective.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

Developing, Improving and Maintaining Core Infrastructure:

• Defining, configuring and implementing new server architecture to align with the business needs

moving forwards.

• Defining, configuring and implementing expansion of internal networks, Cisco, Netgear.

• Configuration and Implementation of digital certificates.

• Management of company MS365 tenant including Entra, Sharepoint, Exchange SE.

• Configuration, implementation and management of SonicWALL firewalls.

• Implementation, configuration and administration of a new internal telecom’s solution.

Developing, Improving and Maintaining Core Business Systems:

• Development and maintenance of various in-house apps developed using Java, C#,

MS365 Power Platform tools (BI, Automate etc.).

• Administration of the company NDR system, including configuration, and responding to

alerts.

• Administration and development of Atlassian Jira, Confluence & BitBucket plus plugins.

Auditing, Reporting, Compliance:

• Reviewing the daily IT security audit logs and following up on any anomalies.

• Reviewing the daily backup logs and resolving any issues/failures.

• Server restore testing exercises.

• Performing cyber-attack simulations.

Other:

• Responding to IT Helpdesk tickets.

• New user/computer setup.

• Server & Client updates (where manual intervention required).

• Administration of Active Directory.

• Administration of Windows & Linux server environment.

• Visits to REUK sites to provide both planned and ad hoc support/infrastructure implementations.

• Occasionally, out-of-hours work as and when required.

Required Skills:

Must have a wide-ranging level of experience with Microsoft Windows Server with Hyper-V within a clustered

(multi-site/location) environment including the scoping of business requirements in addition to detailing

specifications, configuration and undertaking implementation.

• A high-level understanding of networking including, architecture planning, configuration, deployment and

management, IPSec/V-Lan implementation. Strong experience with Cisco appliances preferred.

• Proven experience administrating MS365 including Entra, Sharepoint and Exchange Server SE.

• Fluency with MS SQL Server in both writing advanced scripts/procedures and administration of databases

with maintenance plans etc.

• Experience of working within a secure environment with a minimum of Cyber Essentials Plus.

• Good analytical skills: forming decisions based on widespread, fragmented or uncertain data.

• Excellent interpersonal skills; confident in dealing with business contacts over phone, video

conference and email

Desirable Skills:

• Microsoft Professional with relevant certificates.

• SonicWall NSA firewall implementation and configuration with an in-depth knowledge of these appliances

and their services.

• Experience in using/administering Darktrace appliances.

• Administration of ESET Protect.

• Ubuntu Linux administration within an enterprise environment.

• Familiarity with Nessus vulnerability scanning service.

• High familiarity with the needs and drivers of an ISO9000 accredited, defence manufacturing

company.

Full time 37.5 hrs per wk.

Salary dependant on experience / qualifications
