Activities Co-ordinator

Location: Freshwater, Green Meadows

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: 30 hours per week

The role:

To lead with and coordinate service events and encourage the involvement of residents. Working with residents to provide choice and assist them to access day activities.

You must be physically able to undertake moving and handling, have the use of a vehicle with business use insurance, and will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with residents to provide choice and assist them to access day activities

  • Undertake regular review of day activity services

  • Encourage the recruitment of volunteers to day activity services

  • Liaise with residents to source activities and events

  • Coordinate and attend community events and meetings as required

What you'll have:

  • You will have a proven understanding of the specific requirements of people with care needs

  • You need to have proven knowledge of Health & Safety appropriate to the post

  • You need to have knowledge of day services and activities for people with support and care needs

  • You need to have proven knowledge and awareness of local services including community and social groups

  • You need to be able to listen and communicate effectively and form positive relationships at all levels

  • You need to have excellent written and oral communication skills, at all levels, and have good numeracy and literacy skills

  • You need to have empathy, compassion and patience
