The Isle of Wight College is seeking a dynamic and innovative Teaching and Learning Manager to join our team leading Foundation and 14-16 years curriculum provisions. You will work collaboratively with other staff and stakeholders to design and develop an innovative and create curriculum for your learners. You will manage, and review programmes in specified areas, including Further Education (FE), work-based, and commercial provisions. The role requires ensuring that student needs are met responsively, supporting the concept of inclusive learning, and addressing any gaps in achievement or curriculum.
About the Role
• Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to design and develop programmes in specified curriculum areas.
• Manage and review programmes, ensuring they meet student needs and promote inclusive learning.
• Undertake teaching, learning, and assessment activities, ensuring high-quality provision in response to learners' needs.
• Promote high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment within the area.
• Produce high standards of student achievement, progression, and value added.
• Manage curriculum areas and perform day-to-day duties to achieve outstanding success for students.
Requirements
• The ideal candidate will hold Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, as well as a PGCE or Certificate in Education or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of working in a student-focused environment, such as 14-19, adult, employer responsive, and/or HE provision with relevant continuing professional development is essential.
• The candidate must have current knowledge and understanding of the FE environment, including funding and government policy, and demonstrate an employer focus in curriculum design and development.
• Proven track record in innovative and entrepreneurial curriculum design, substantial knowledge in creating and implementing strategies for change and service/quality improvement, and successful implementation of equality, diversity, and inclusion strategies.
• Mentoring and coaching skills, presentation skills, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour while leading, motivating, and developing staff to build effective teams are necessary attributes for this role.
