Carisbrooke College is seeking to appoint a Student Engagement & Inclusion Officer. They will play a key role in supporting the school’s pastoral team by working directly with students who are experiencing difficulties engaging with learning. The Student Engagement & Inclusion Officer will contribute to a positive school culture where all students feel safe, understood, and valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide calm, relational support and restorative guidance to students.

• Maintain a visible presence around school and intervene early to prevent behavioural issues.

• Support students in and out of the classroom, including reintegration and lesson transitions.

• Deliver targeted interventions, mentoring, and coaching to improve engagement and behaviour.

• Supervise social times, promoting safety, inclusion, and positive interactions.

• Keep accurate records, monitor behaviour, and communicate with staff and families.

• Work closely with pastoral, SEND, and teaching staff to remove barriers to learning.

• Uphold professional standards and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture.
