Make a difference every day. Build relationships that matter.
Are you a caring person looking for a rewarding part-time role where you can genuinely make a difference?
At Home Instead Isle of Wight, we're looking for kind-hearted people to join our local team, supporting clients in Cowes, Newport and the surrounding areas.
Since April 2019, we have been providing person-centred care to Island residents, and we're proud to have maintained our Outstanding rating with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
We believe great care is about more than completing tasks. It's about building trust, creating meaningful connections and helping people continue to live independently in their own homes.
Why join Home Instead Isle of Wight?
We know our Care Professionals are our greatest asset, and we want you to feel valued and appreciated.
Here's what we offer:
-
Competitive pay: £14.25–£15.25 per hour, with enhanced rates on bank holidays.
-
Paid mileage: Mileage paid between client visits.
-
Part-time hours with flexibility: We're happy to discuss your availability and explore a working pattern that suits you and our clients.
-
Meaningful relationships: Get to know your clients and build lasting relationships through continuity of care.
-
Full paid training: No previous care experience is necessary, as we'll provide the training and guidance you need to succeed.
-
Ongoing support: On the job shadowing before lone working and access to refresher training. Benefit from continued support from our friendly office team, including 24/7 support.
-
28 days' annual leave: Pro rata for part-time hours.
-
Health and wellbeing support: Access to our wellness programme, including healthcare and counselling.
-
Blue Light Card: Access exclusive discounts at a wide range of retailers and businesses.
-
A supportive team: Enjoy a friendly working environment, regular team activities and our Care Professional of the Month awards.
What does the role involve?
Every client is different, so no two days are exactly the same. You'll provide personalised support that helps older people maintain their independence while at home.
Your duties may include:
Companionship and social support
-
Spending quality time chatting, sharing hobbies and enjoying activities together.
-
Accompanying clients on walks, appointments and social outings.
-
Providing reassurance and helping to reduce loneliness.
Home help and everyday tasks
-
Preparing meals and encouraging healthy eating and hydration.
-
Helping with light housekeeping, laundry and keeping the home tidy.
-
Running errands, collecting prescriptions and assisting with shopping.
Personal care and wellbeing
-
Supporting clients with washing, dressing and bathing.
-
Providing medication assistance in line with care plans and training.
-
Offering support with other personal care needs, always respecting each client's privacy and dignity.
What are we looking for?
You don't need previous care experience or formal qualifications. We welcome people from all backgrounds who share our values and have a genuine desire to help others.
We're looking for people who are:
-
Kind, compassionate and dependable.
-
Friendly and confident building relationships with others.
-
Reliable, patient and willing to learn.
-
Passionate about providing high-quality care.
A full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle are required for this role, as some clients live in more remote areas of the Island.
