Dadzclub Project Worker (Saturday mornings)

Salary £3,497 per annum

Hours 5 hours per week (3.5 on Saturdays and 1.5 worked flexibly)

Duration: 1 Year (Expectation to remain in post/within the organisation subject to funding)

Location: Isle of Wight (Newport Family Hub)

Responsible to: Senior Coordinator

Immediate start available for the right candidate.

We are seeking to recruit a Dadzclub Project Worker to run a weekend group for dads from the  Newport Family Hub on the Isle of Wight.

Our weekly in-person meetups are the perfect opportunity to connect with other dads who understand the joys and challenges of parenting. We believe that dads should have a place where they can come together, chat, and form meaningful connections.

But that's not all! At Dadzclub, we take fun seriously! Our engaging, creative, and playful weekend groups are designed to bring father figures and their children together for quality time. Whether you're looking for a chance to bond with your child or simply looking for a fun activity to do together, we've got you covered.

And the best part? Dadzclub is more than just a social group. We actively work with other organisations to improve access to services for fathers, raise awareness of health and parenting issues affecting men, and promote discussions around allyship and gender equity. So not only are you having fun and connecting with other dads and their children, but you're also making a positive impact on the world around you.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Facilitate a fun and engaging Saturday morning stay and play group for fathers and their children

  • Providing healthy snacks and refreshments

  • Providing advice and guidance, signposting towards appropriate support services.

  • Provide simple admin duties as part of a team in our Dadzclub online community

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a wider Dadzclub team

  • Be able to attend training courses

  • Maintain accurate records and reports, documenting progress and program achievements.

  • Manage a small budget, track spending, report monthly finances.

  • Provide ad hoc support as agreed.

  • Any other duty as required by the line manager commensurate with the post.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • The successful applicant will either be a dad themselves or someone who has equivalent knowledge and experience in working in this type of setting

  • Have a natural flair of confidence and a good communicator with both adults and children,

  • Be creative and able to plan engaging activities for adults and children of all ages,

  • Be passionate about parenting and be willing to undergo training to further develop your knowledge and understanding.

  • Be an advocate and positive role model to the important role fathers play in children’s lives and be a proven ally to all parents.

  • Work collaboratively alongside colleagues to deliver high quality, consistent and reliable support for families using our services,

  • Enjoy developing positive working relationships with the local community, the local authority, charity and third sector organisations in order to create a network of support for families,

  • Understand the importance of safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection, and follow TPN policies and procedures.

  • Be available to work Saturday mornings

This role will involve safeguarding children and will require the candidate to undergo an advanced DBS check before a formal offer of employment is made.

Due to the nature of this role, which involves delivering father-focused support services and facilitating safe spaces for men and boys, this position is subject to a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
