Milford Del Support Services is recruiting dedicated, compassionate, and resilient Support Workers to join our Ofsted-regulated Children’s Residential Complex Care services.

About the Role

As a Children’s Residential Complex Care Support Worker, you will provide consistent, high-quality care and support in accordance with each child’s care plan, placement plan, and risk assessments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing safe, nurturing, and structured care to children and young people

  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children at all times

  • Supporting children with daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and personal development

  • Promoting independence, confidence, and life skills

  • Building positive, trusting, and professional relationships with children and young people

  • Supporting children to engage in education, health appointments, and community activities

  • Following behaviour support plans and using trained, therapeutic approaches

  • Maintaining clear, accurate, and timely records in line with Ofsted and organisational requirements

  • Supporting children during times of distress in a calm, safe, and appropriate manner

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, managers, social workers, and other professionals

  • Contributing to a safe, stable, and supportive home environment

You will be expected to work in line with safeguarding legislation, Ofsted regulations, and Milford Del Support Services policies and procedures.


Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience supporting children or young people, either in a professional setting or through relevant personal experience

  • Previous experience working in a care or support role, with a good understanding of person-centred care

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

  • Ability to build positive, appropriate, and professional relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries

  • Emotional resilience and ability to remain calm in challenging situations

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including accurate record keeping

  • Ability to follow care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments

  • Reliable, professional, and committed to high standards of care

  • Willingness to complete all mandatory and regulatory training


Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience working in an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential setting

  • Experience supporting children with complex emotional and behavioural needs

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this, as required by regulation)

  • Full UK driving licence
