Community Support Team – Senior Care Professional

 Full-time | Driving licence essential | Weekend split shifts required every other weekend

 We are looking for an experienced and adaptable care professional to join our Community Support Team.

This is a varied role for someone who enjoys delivering excellent hands-on care while also supporting colleagues and helping ensure that new and existing care packages run smoothly.

You will be one of two Community Support Team members working opposite each other on a two-week rota, providing reliable support across the service where it is needed most.

About the role

As part of the Community Support Team, you will provide care and operational support during periods of annual leave, sickness and other unexpected staffing pressures. You will also play an important part in supporting the introduction of new care packages, helping ensure that new services get off to the best possible start.

When you are not required to provide direct care cover, your role will include supporting and developing our care team and helping us maintain high standards of care.

 Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the introduction and mobilisation of new care packages
• Providing high-quality care to clients when covering annual leave, sickness and other staffing requirements
• Working with new carers to help them become confident and established in their roles
• Supporting with spot checks and general competencies
• Supporting the wider team to maintain consistently high standards of care
• Responding flexibly when additional support is required across the service

Hours, contract and working pattern 

This position works on a two-week rotating pattern alongside another member of the Community Support Team, equating to 91 hours over a two week period. 

The working pattern includes a mixture of early, late and split-shift working. The shifts consist of 7:00am–2:00pm and 4:00pm–10:00pm. Applicants must be able to work split shifts every other weekend as part of the rota. 

You will be paid for the full scheduled shift, regardless of the amount of care cover required during that shift. When direct care cover is not required, your time will be used to support other Community Support Team duties, including supporting new carers and care packages, completing spot checks and undertaking staff competency assessments.

About you

We are looking for someone who is experienced, dependable and confident working both independently and as part of a wider care team.

 Ideally, you will have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, although, candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered
• Good practical knowledge of delivering high-quality person-centred care
• The confidence and experience to support and develop other carers
• Good communication
• A calm and flexible approach when circumstances change
• A willingness to provide hands-on care when required

A full driving licence and the ability to drive are essential for this role.
