Are you a patient, caring and compassionate person wanting to make a difference in a home from home, family feeling environment?
Do you have an interest in being part of a team and ensuring good quality care is being provided?
Do you have experience working in a care home, and are looking to either being a part of a team, or leading a team?
Who we are…..
Eden House Residential Home, part of St Vincent Care Homes Ltd. have been offering care and support to the elderly for over 30 years and we pride ourselves on having an amazing team of staff with a great atmosphere, so you feel comfortable and happy coming to work each day. As we are a small home of maximum 20 residents, we really get to know our residents and always advocate for the best outcomes for them as they become our second family. We hold very high standards, and pride ourselves on ensuring our staff are highly trained and deeply caring so that they can provide the best possible care to our service users. A majority of our service users also live with dementia which means that every day brings a new experience for both our staff and our service users, and we support our residents through all of their dementia journey.
About the role
We are looking for:
Care Assistant - responsibilities will include supporting our residents to wash and dress, nutrition support, operation of moving and handling equipment such as hoists, adhering to Infection Control procedures and other relevant policies, documenting the support you have provided and signing daily audits. You will work together with the rest of the care team and other members of staff in house to ensure a smooth running of the home.
A Senior Care Assistant - responsibilities will include undertaking medication rounds, delegating to junior members of staff, ensuring the safety of the residents and dealing with any medical issues and professionals at the time. To apply for this job role and be considered you must hold at least an NVQ 2 or similar qualification in Health and Social Care, and preferably have undertaken medication rounds before, or an NVQ 3. There is the expectation to take part of an on call rota when required during weekends and holidays where the management team may not be available, so someone who is confident and able to follow policy and lead a team is needed.
Our minimum contracted hours are 12 hours per week, up to 42 hours per week for day shifts.
This is a hands-on caring role where you will support people to live their lives in a meaningful way. You will care for them as if they were your own family; with respect and dignity, and ensure that their physical and emotional needs are recognised and met with warmth and affection.
You will be supported to complete your training so that you are always up to date with the latest guidance; giving you the confidence to know that you are caring for people, according to best practice and to the best of your ability.
As a member of staff you will be required to deliver personal care and support to our residents, ensuring everything is completed in a person-centred way and empowering residents to make informed choices so their care is delivered how they would like, ensuring everything is factually documented and working with your colleagues to deliver a good standard of care.
About you
In an ideal world, you will hold an NVQ 2 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care, with experience supporting and caring for elderly people living with dementia. We are looking for dedicated and compassionate candidates, who pride themselves on providing good quality care and with a desire to improve their own continuing professional development and knowledge. Someone who is confident and able to maintain a calm working environment and lead a team would be perfect for this job role. For the right person, we are prepared to support them to gain their Care Certificate if they lack any qualifications.
Succesful applicants will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Unfortunately we cannot offer sponsorship at this time.
