We are recruiting an aspiring Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our expanding Finance team based at our offices in Newport, Isle of Wight.

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, your duties will consist of:
· The accurate and timely provision of purchase ledger duties and accounts functions in line with month-end closure procedures.
· Handling both GBP and foreign currency invoices and payments.
· Ensuring all invoices/credits are coded correctly before entering - communicating with the relevant departments to confirm if necessary.
· Inputting of invoices and matching against purchase order / goods receipt documentation.
· Collaborating with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies.
· Carrying out monthly supplier statement reconciliations, addressing any issues that arise and ensuring they are resolved within the SAP system.
· Preparation of a weekly payment run ensuring invoices are paid within the agreed terms.
· Answering any supplier queries in a timely manner - investigating and resolving or referring where necessary.
· Assisting with ad hoc duties as required by the Finance team.
Required skills and qualifications
- Superb time management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise work to ensure all deadlines are met in a timely manner
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
- A very methodical and logical approach to working
- Able to clearly convey information to internal and external contacts
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information
- Knowledge of an accounting system would be advantageous
A training opportunity in AAT Accounting will be offered to the right candidate as a distance learning programme.
Full time 37.5 hrs per wk.
