About the Role:
Our high-performing Creditor Payments Team is responsible for processing payment information received from council suppliers and service departments. We’re now looking for an enthusiastic and committed Creditors Assistant to join us and help ensure payments are made accurately, efficiently, and in line with financial regulations.
Duties will include:
- Accurate input and processing of payment documents using financial systems.
- Liaising with colleagues across Council departments and external Creditors.
- Providing information to Team Leaders regarding complex payment queries for resolution.
Your attention to detail will be essential in ensuring the correct payments are made to Council Creditors and Individuals.
What You’ll Need to Demonstrate:
- A good eye for detail and accuracy – this is a data-heavy role where precision input is key.
- Strong verbal communication skills to work effectively with internal and external contacts.
- Team working skills – we’re collaborative and supportive.
- The ability to work to strict deadlines in a performance-driven environment.
- Confidence in understanding and applying regulations when processing payments.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in an administrative or financial environment is desirable.
- A minimum qualification of 4 GCSEs Grade 9-4 (A–C), including English and Maths (or equivalent) are required.
