Whitefield Tax are looking for a part time Client Bookkeeper

Whitefield Tax look after some 700 clients over a variety of sectors.  Some of these clients look to us to undertake aspects of their day-to-day bookkeeping, sometimes outsourcing the whole function to us; other clients look to us to check their bookkeeping and VAT periodically. 

We are seeking candidates with strong experience in bookkeeping, vat and ledger accounting using cloud-based systems.

The role could be home based, based in our Brading office, or mixed – our preference is mixed, with hours split between home working and office based.  We have pioneered our technicians working from home for over a decade and are experienced in making this work.

Core hours around 20 a week with flexibility.  We are happy for these hours to be worked around childcare and family

We are offering between £13.00 to £14.50 per hour for this role, depending on experience.

Key skills and experience would encompass:

• Experience within a variety of businesses / sectors.
• Experience of systems like FreeAgent, Quickbooks, Xero and Sage.  The practice is “open platform” but uses FreeAgent as a preferred solution, and we would look to providing training and certification of the successful applicant with FreeAgent.
• Strong experience of Excel and similar products.
• Cognisant with the basics of PAYE and VAT as they apply to small businesses, along with the regulatory structure for UK small business.
• Confidence in meeting with clients by Phone, Email, Video Call or In Person to clear queries and offer first line support and advice to clients, whilst representing the practice professionally.
• A “can do” and flexible approach to meet the variety of differing challenges presented by our clients.
• A methodical and consistent approach to work, with attention to detail.
