Summary
We are recruiting for a passionate and driven Regional Fundraising Manager to join our Isle of Wight team. In this pivotal role, you’ll focus on delivering impactful events, campaigns, and partnerships, you’ll play a key role in strengthening our regional presence—ensuring more people are aware of and engaged with our services. This position is based in Newport on the Isle of Wight
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of community and events fundraising activity across the IOW, including campaigns, challenge events, and bespoke initiatives, in line with the charity’s income generation strategy.
- Line manage the Fundraising Assistant to help grow fundraising capacity and income.
- Work closely with the Head of Community, Events and Partnerships to contribute to and deliver on strategic fundraising objectives and KPIs.
- Build strong relationships with local businesses, community groups, schools, and key individuals to drive income and raise awareness of the charity’s work.
- Actively seek and develop corporate partnerships through outreach and relationship management, with a focus on long-term value and impact.
- Grow and strengthen the local supporter network, ensuring engagement leads to sustainable income and advocacy for the charity.
- Inspire, support and coordinate volunteers to help deliver events and fundraising activity, ensuring they feel valued and aligned with team goals.
- Represent Wessex Cancer Support at community events, presentations and local engagement opportunities to increase visibility and connection with the public.
- Ensure accurate data capture and reporting through Salesforce CRM to support performance tracking and decision-making.
- Contribute to the creation and testing of new fundraising ideas that reflect local insight and help diversify income streams.
- Work with the marketing team to maximise the reach and impact of local fundraising campaigns and raise the charity’s profile across the region.
Requirements
- Experienced fundraiser, or someone with transferable skills from e.g. event management or sales.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in person and written, with ability to work with a diverse range of people including donors, volunteers, stakeholders and clients.
- Strong, demonstrable experience in charity event management.
- Experience and good working knowledge of using a Fundraising database, preferably Salesforce.
- Experience of managing budgets and exceeding targets.
- Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously and working to deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills: confident using Microsoft, email, internet etc.
- Competent in creating and maintaining spreadsheets.
- Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
- Experience of working in a supporter or customer care focused environment including experience of face-to-face contact with customers/supporters.
- Demonstrable initiative, motivation and determination.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a small team.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and multitask, particularly in times of significant pressure
- Empathy with Wessex Cancer Trust’s aims and values, including an understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity.
- Full Clean Driving License
