Job Summary

Deliver exceptional value to both existing and prospective members of the Island Sailing Club by ensuring membership subscriptions receive a high-quality club experience. Provide effective coordination and support across all relevant operational functions to enhance member services, engagement and satisfaction. Contribute strategically and operationally to strengthening the Club’s reputation and positioning the Island Sailing Club as the premier sailing and social club in Cowes.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for recruitment & processing of new members & supporting documentation.
  • Responsible for collation and maintenance of all membership information in Sailing Club Manager, including pricing structure and monthly monitoring of subs payments against targets.
  • Responsible for annual review of the membership categories, new membership year construction and subscription collection each year, including all communications to support the membership renewal process.
  • Responsible for the marketing content, copy and imagery on the website as well as maintenance of general and members noticeboard information.
  • Responsible for monthly reporting on membership KPI’s & accommodation revenue, and identify areas to focus on and target.
  • Responsible for all internal & external membership communications, ensuring that the relevant updates are shared with the managerial and operational teams.
  • Responsible for creating a comprehensive membership social events programme alongside the Front of House team and creating all communications & copy to support the programme, including meeting sales targets.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Club documentation for members is up to date.
  • Responsible for creating and updating process documents for all membership related matters.
  • Review member spend, allocate appropriate tier benefits and monitor resignations to ensure fair adherence to Club rules.
  • Responsible for identifying new membership recruitment opportunities and facilitating these events.
  • Support the general office & reception function including member interaction and support as required, working alongside the Operations Officer to agree process and workflow. 
  • Work alongside the Front of House team to develop the external events programme and expand market share whilst growing the membership packages.
  • Responsible for creating a suite of benefits to the membership and ensuring that all platforms of communication reflect the offer. I.e. local discounts, vouchers, working and actively seeking new opportunities with businesses and brands.
  • Support with specific Regatta admin as required. i.e. Cowes Week, RIR.
  • Liaise with Front of House Manager and Head Chef to agree menus and event structure, and upload events and ticketing onto Sailing Club Manager system.
  • Monitor event participation, review payment collection and promote where necessary.
  • Liaise with Marketing Officer to ensure relevant artwork/comms produced for all Club events is accurate and shared on all appropriate Social Media platforms.
  • Create invitational collateral for annual member events, manage guest list and registrations.
  • Manage external exhibitor involvement for public events such as Christmas Fayre & RIR Market Hall including invitations, stand allotment, exhibitor liaison and marketing.
  • Manage accommodation bookings using Airbnb booking platform, ensuring rates and availability including seasonal pricing is maintained.
  • Monitor costs related to accommodation, reviewing alternative booking options regularly.
  • Arrange cleaning of accommodation.
  • Assist Sailing Officer with registrations for evening sailing events, where needed.
  • Monitor merchandise stock, reviewing costs and researching alternative options where possible.
  • Support and adhere to Club Health & Safety policies, promoting safe working practices.
