Sheet Metal Fabricator and Welder

Vikoma is a world leader in the design and manufacture of oil spill response equipment. Our expert team of 60 supports an international market from an Isle of Wight based facility.

Based in East Cowes Isle of Wight, we have a first class facility.  The quality and reliability of our products is really important to us while ensuring the safety of our people comes first.

We are now looking for an experienced individual to join our fabrication and welding team.  If you are experienced in metal fabrication and welding or just metal fabrication but willing to learn welding please apply.  Training for welding can be provided.

We can offer you a permanent contract working a 38-hour week inside at our East Cowes factory with a competitive salary and overtime is also available.

• 4 ½ day, 38 hour week:  8am - 5pm Monday - Thursday and 8am - 12 noon Friday

Main responsibilities:

• Fabrication and welding of oil recovery skimmers & powerpack frames and other equipment, depending upon your experience.
• Working in accordance with company work instructions which will take the form of drawings and verbal instructions.

Desired skills:

• Fabrication experience is essential
• Welding experience preferred or training can be provided
• Sheet metal and frame fabrication, cutting, rolling, forming etc.
• Mig/Tig Welding, Stainless and/or Aluminium.
• Ability to work from engineering drawings.
• Able to work in a clean and efficient way.
• Ability to work as a team member as well as individually.
• Ability to follow work instructions and procedures.
