Role Overview
ISM (IOW) Ltd is seeking a motivated Junior CNC Manufacturing Technician to join our production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in CNC manufacturing and sheet metal fabrication.
The successful candidate will be trained in-house to operate our brand-new 6KW Bystronic laser cutting machine and LVD CNC punch press, with further opportunities to learn CNC milling and programming as skills develop. Where appropriate, external training courses will also be provided.
This role would suit a junior candidate, school/college leaver, or someone early in their engineering career with a strong interest in CNC machinery and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with and learn the operation of a Bystronic laser cutting machine

Assist with and learn the operation of an LVD CNC punch press

Support production activities to ensure jobs are completed accurately and efficiently

Read and interpret technical drawings and job cards

Carry out machine and tool *setup, material loading, and part handling under supervision

Perform quality checks on finished components

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

Progress toward CNC programming and CNC mill operation as training advances
Training & Development

Full in-house training provided

Mandetory external and additional external training courses where necessary or beneficial

Long-term development into a skilled CNC operator/programmer
Skills & Experience (Preferred but Not Essential)

Some experience with CNC machinery (laser, punch, mill, or similar) is beneficial but not essential

Ability to read and understand technical/engineering drawings

NVQ, BTEC, apprenticeship, or similar qualification in Engineering or Manufacturing preferred

Good attention to detail and willingness to learn

Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
