Unitspark is an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering contractor working within the UK construction industry, mainly within Water Utilities.
Due to growth, we are now looking for an ICA Technician to join our team on the Isle of Wight
The ICA technician will hold a technical role within the company. You will be working alongside electrical and mechanical teams, as well as working alone at times.
A standby and call out rota is operated to cover reactive work out of hours.
Duties
Typical (non-exhaustive) duties may include: -
• Equipment Replacement - Replacing end-of-life or non-supported equipment and hardware, including Telemetry RTU and their communications, PLC, HMI, SCADA, and control systems.
• Fault Diagnosis - Identifying and resolving technical issues with instrumentation, control, and automation equipment, using troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools.
• Testing and Configuration - Ensuring equipment is functioning correctly and is properly configured to meet operational requirements.
• Installation and Repair- Installing, modifying, and repairing equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following industry best practices and safety guidelines.
• Compliance: Adhering to industry standards and regulations, such as Health and Safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Electrical Drawings - Reading and modifying electrical drawings to understand and implement technical specifications.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing client questions and concerns professionally.
• PC literate and be able to demonstrate a basic background in IT skills.
• Participate in a call-out rota to cover Clients 24/7 reactive breakdowns
Essential For Role
• Full Electrical apprenticeship or HNC / ONC / BTEC
• 18th Edition Wiring Regs.
• Knowledge of SCADA, Telemetry, HMI, PLC and Instrumentation
• CSCS or ECS Card.
• Experience in Instrumentation, Control and Automation
• Ability to organise and manage time effectively
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well with other teams within the company
Experience in the Water Industry would be advantageous
