About the Role
The Isle of Wight College’s Centre of Excellence for Composites, Advanced Manufacturing and Marine (CECAMM) is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Engineering Lecturer to join our dynamic team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer or educator to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, industry-relevant teaching and learning across a broad range of engineering programmes. The successful candidate will combine strong theoretical knowledge with practical workshop expertise, preparing learners for successful progression into industry or higher education.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons and practical sessions across a range of engineering subjects, such as:
- Core Engineering Sciences (Mathematics, Mechanical Principles, Thermodynamics, Materials Science, Mechatronics)
- Engineering Project Management, Manufacturing Techniques, and Manufacturing Systems
- Prepare and contextualise lesson delivery to meet awarding body and industry standards.
- Conduct safe and engaging workshop-based teaching in areas such as hand fitting, sheet metalwork, machining techniques, electronics, and robotics.
- Assess learner progress, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement.
- Support students in developing their skills through industry placements and work experience.
- Contribute to course design, quality assurance, and curriculum development.
- Provide academic and personal tutorial support to students.
- Participate in departmental meetings, college events, and training sessions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and industry partners to support occupational specialisms.
- Ensure all administrative and quality-related documentation is completed accurately and on time.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about engineering education and committed to student success. You should have:
- A relevant Engineering qualification (ideally HNC/D or higher).
- Practical industry experience and a sound understanding of modern engineering techniques.
- (Desirable) A recognised teaching qualification or a willingness to work towards one.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to inspire, motivate and engage learners of all abilities.
