Are you an experienced professional in the engineering industry with a passion for teaching and mentoring? We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Engineering Lecturer to join our team. This position represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team shaping the future of vocational and technical education in Engineering.
About The Role:
As a key part of our team, you’ll have the chance to make a real difference to the lives of learners across the island. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective teaching sessions, providing academic support, and coaching students to develop essential engineering skills. You will play a key role in the planning, delivery and assessment of high-quality teaching across the Engineering programme.
The successful candidate will support students to achieve their full potential, contribute to curriculum development, and uphold high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
· To plan and deliver lessons to a range of classes, maintaining a high-quality student learning experience
· To formally assess, giving appropriate feedback (written and oral) and maintaining records of student’s progress and development
· Undertaking academic tutorial duties, supporting students on an individual basis through academic difficulties
· Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to secure and maintain successful relationships
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
· Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
· A degree/HND or equivalent vocational/professional qualification in Engineering
· Hold an endorsed teaching qualification, or be willing to work towards
· Knowledge of raising retention and achievement of learners/mentees
· A working knowledge of a learner/mentee focused environment is desirable, but not essential
