Do you want to have a once in a career opportunity to support the set up of a brand new School Improvement service within the new Children’s Services Directorate at the Isle of Wight Council?

What will you be doing?

  • Responsibility for improving the outcomes of all children and young people across the Island.
  • Line manage the School Improvement team, including Governor Services.
  • Developing a traded service.
  • Work with external stakeholders to improve the opportunities for our children and young people.
  • Take responsibility for developing and monitoring service planning, including KPI’s.
  • Represent the department within the various meetings and partnerships.
  • Work with senior colleagues to drive forward the Education Strategy.
  • Improve the outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

About you

  • A qualified teacher, with significant school senior leadership experience.
  • Able to work as part of a team, taking responsibility for areas they lead on.
  • Ability to access face to face meetings locally.
  • High quality verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to ensuring children and young people across the Isle of Wight achieve their best outcomes and develop into independent adults.
