Are you passionate about enabling students to succeed in English, Maths, and ESOL? The Isle of Wight College is seeking a proactive English, Maths, and ESOL Coordinator to lead and support essential processes across these vital subjects.

About The Role:

As a key part of our team, you’ll have the chance to make a real difference to the lives of learners across the island. Within this role, you will work with Teaching and Learning Managers and lecturers to monitor progress against key performance indicators (KPIs). You will also provide essential support to the teaching team by monitoring attendance, progress and achievements, producing relevant reports when required.

Key Responsibilities:

As the English, Maths, and ESOL Coordinator, you will:

Collaborate with lecturers to track progress for all English, ESOL, and Maths learners using college systems, ensuring timely testing and target achievement.

Coordinate data collection for returns to the College Information System (CIS), ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

Use college dashboards to monitor and track learner attendance on a daily and weekly basis, taking appropriate action for students with attendance below 75%.

Ensure e-registers are completed promptly, coordinate register audits, and liaise with curriculum areas and support staff to maintain accuracy.

Schedule testing within defined windows and ensure results are accurately recorded.

Resolve enrolment queries, facilitate vocational course transitions, and manage late enrolments, ensuring timetabled sessions and ALPs reflect changes.

Liaise with the E&M team and CIS to ensure database systems are up-to-date and provide accurate data to stakeholders.

Coordinate and support the work of administrative staff, allocating tasks and ensuring timely completion of work.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Level 2 Qualifications in English and Maths

A Level 3 Qualification in Business Administration or equivalent, or be willing to work towards

Able to work under pressure, to be organised and prioritise own workload to meet deadline

Proven experience working in, and providing support in, a coordination/administrative role
