Education Officer - Dinosaur Isle Museum

Dinosaur Isle Museum, Sandown is home to the Island’s world-renown fossil collection, including many new types of dinosaurs discovered here on the Isle of Wight.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team as Temporary Part Time Education Officer. The successful candidate will manage, and lead delivery of the museum’s schools and public engagement offer and be pivotal in developing innovative ways to interpret the collections to diverse audiences.

We welcome applicants with experience in both formal and informal teaching using collections, in museums, classrooms and in the field. Knowledge of the national curriculum and safeguarding, along with the ability to recognise and interpret geological objects, and experience of fieldwork is what we are looking for to join our team. Possession of a recognised teaching qualification would be an advantage.

The role is the equivalent of 15 hours per week spread over the year and will involve weekend working and duty management as required.
