Where data meets strategy — and your impact shapes the future of the Isle of Wight College.

Are you the kind of MIS leader who can spot a funding anomaly from 20 paces?
Do you secretly (or proudly) love a well-structured ILR?
Does the thought of accurate data, compliant exams, and a perfectly aligned curriculum planning model bring you genuine joy?

If so… you may have just found your people.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced, strategic, big-picture thinker to join our senior leadership team as our Director of MIS, Funding and Exams — a role that sits right at the heart of how the College functions, grows and succeeds.

This is a high-impact, college-wide leadership position, responsible for:

  • Leading our MIS, Funding, Exams and Performance Reporting functions
  • Ensuring data integrity, accuracy and full compliance across ILR, JCQ and awarding body requirements
  • Driving funding optimisation and curriculum planning across 16–19, Adult Skills, Apprenticeships, Loans and High Needs
  • Turning complex national policy agendas into clear, confident operational delivery
  • Providing the insight, analysis and modelling that empowers the College to make smart, strategic decisions

In short: if the College were an engine, you’d be the one who keeps it running smoothly — and at its most efficient.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you are:

  • A seasoned FE data and funding expert who knows ILR inside-out
  • Confident leading MIS-related teams and building high-performing, collaborative cultures
  • Comfortable partnering with auditors (and even enjoy it  we wont judge!)
  • Analytical, detail-focused and calm under pressure
  • Great at translating complexity into clarity

In short: if the College were an engine, you’d be the one who keeps it running smoothly — and at its most efficient.

You’ll bring:

  • A degree or equivalent professional experience
  • A Level 5+ management qualification (or willingness to work toward it)
  • A strong track record of strategic leadership in FE MIS or Funding
  • A commitment to continuous professional development
  • And — ideally — a love of making systems, processes and people work better together

Why Join Us?

Because this isn’t a “keep things ticking over” job.
It’s a shape the future job.

You’ll play a leading role in:

  • Strengthening financial resilience
  • Steering curriculum planning and modelling
  • Ensuring compliance and excellence across all data functions
  • Supporting staff, empowering teams and driving innovation
  • Enhancing how the College uses insight to improve student experience and outcomes

You’ll be a key voice at the table.
You’ll influence change.
And you’ll see the real-world impact of your work every single day.

Sound like your kind of challenge?

If you’re an MIS, Funding and Exams professional who loves strategy, thrives on precision and enjoys turning complex FE landscapes into well-oiled systems, we’d love to hear from you.
