Reporting to Headteacher

The Island Learning Centre (ILC) is a pupil referral unit that supports some of the most vulnerable young people on the island. An exciting opportunity now exists for a Deputy Headteacher to be responsible for managing the following areas:

  • On-site Alternative Provision
  • Off-site Alternative Provision 
  • Outdoor Learning 
  • Medical Provision
  • Lead Trauma Informed therapies.
  • Lead Speech and Language therapies.

The ILC provides a stimulating and nurturing environment for a range of students who for a variety of reasons are unable to attend mainstream schools. This could be due to medical needs, being emotionally vulnerable or having social and emotional difficulties.

The Centre aims to be a Trauma Informed and Therapeutic centre of excellence working with children their parents and home schools.
