Medina College is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and forward-thinking Teacher of English and Deputy Curriculum Lead to join our dedicated team within the Communications Faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented practitioner to support the strategic development of the various curriculums within the faculty, driving high standards across the departments, and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure outstanding outcomes for all students.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support the Curriculum Lead in delivering the faculty vision and promoting high standards of teaching, learning and achievement.

  • Assist in monitoring the quality of teaching and learning, including work scrutiny, moderation, and the effective use of assessment data to support student progress.

  • Help manage and support faculty staff, including promoting positive working relationships, supporting attendance management, and contributing to professional development.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of schemes of work and the faculty improvement plan to ensure a rich and progressive curriculum.

  • Support the management of behaviour and classroom practice within the faculty, providing guidance and assistance to colleagues where appropriate.

  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents/carers and wider school teams to ensure effective communication, accurate exam processes, and positive outcomes for students.

  • Qualified Teacher Status and a degree in English or a related subject.

  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current educational developments.

  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for inspiring young learners.
