Little Acres Childcare Centre Ltd is a busy, fun and nuturing nursery in Newport, Isle of Wight. We are offering a 25-30 hours position for a Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare Practitioner. This will be an all year round contract.

Applicants must be passionate about working with children, friendly, have knowledge of the EYFS, knowledge of safeguarding. Be committed to maintaining the excellent provision and service we offer to families, excellent communication, adaptable, fun and be able to work as part of a team.

Applicants will only be considered if they hold a full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification. We will not be accepting non qualified applicants.

Applicants must be able to work between the hours of 7.45am - 6pm, 25-30 hours

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced dbs check and suitable references will be required. Hourly rate will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

Job Description: Childcare Practitioner level 3

Job Role main duties

  • To implement the EYFS foundation stage across the setting with all children aged 2- 5 years
  • To effectively plan, observe and assess children’s development and progress. Maintain records and profiles as required
  • To contribute to providing a safe, supportive and caring environment for all children attending the setting, ensuring that all children’s individual needs are planned for and met
  • Carry out and contribute to quality assurance audits as required
  • To carry out the role of the key worker to a group of named children as part of key worker teams
  • To implement policies and procedures including safeguarding, health and safety, inclusion and diversity and confidentiality
  • To contribute to the overall planning and development of the setting
  • Attend training, staff meetings and in house development days
  • To work in partnership with parents to support them in playing and learning with their child at home
  • To conduct parent meetings, liaison with other professionals
  • To work beyond the hours of the preschool sessions to include breakfast, afterschool and holiday wrap around care
  • To be committed to ongoing professional development and self reflective practice
  • To maintain hygiene standards at all times, including the care of the younger children
  • To effectively communicate with children, colleagues, parents and other professionals
  • To provide staff cover as required by the manager
  • To support colleagues, volunteers and students in their training and development
  • To act as a positive role model for students, volunteers and members of staff who are training
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the manager
