Chilcare Assessor

Hours: 18.5 hours per week 

Salary: Up to £26,666 per annum (Up to £13,333 Pro-rata)

Holidays: 30 days per annum, pro rata plus bank holidays and given days at Christmas

About the role:

The Isle of Wight College is seeking a dedicated Childcare Assessor to support work-based learners across Early Years qualifications, including apprenticeships and T Level programmes. You will manage a caseload of learners, carrying out assessments in the workplace and on campus, while providing high-quality training, guidance and feedback that enables each learner to progress confidently through their qualification. The role requires you to monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records, liaise with employers and ensure all assessment activity meets awarding-body and College standards.

About you:

You will bring strong knowledge of workplace learning and assessment, along with recent and relevant experience in the Early Years sector. Essential requirements include Level 2 English and Maths, a Level 3 Early Years qualification, and an Assessors Award or willingness to achieve this within three years. Confidence in communicating with learners, employers and colleagues is key, as is the ability to manage your workload effectively and support learners both on the island and the mainland when required.

The ideal candidate will be organised, flexible and committed to maintaining high standards in safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity and data protection. A full driving licence with access to a vehicle insured for business use is essential.
