The Royal Ocean Racing Club in Cowes is looking for a reliable, friendly and hardworking Housekeeper to join our team.

Based in the heart of Cowes, the Club provides a welcoming environment for our members and guests throughout the year, with particularly busy periods during major sailing events. We pride ourselves on maintaining high standards throughout the Club and are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in keeping spaces clean, tidy and beautifully presented.

The role

As Housekeeper, you will help ensure that the Club is always maintained to an excellent standard. Duties will include:

  • Cleaning and maintaining members' and guest areas throughout the Club
  • Cleaning bedrooms and bathrooms and preparing rooms for arriving guests
  • Making beds and changing linen and towels
  • Cleaning communal areas, including restaurant, bar, corridors and stairways
  • Cleaning and maintaining toilets and washroom facilities
  • Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing
  • Replenishing toiletries and other guest supplies
  • Assisting with laundry and linen as required
  • Reporting maintenance issues, damage or faults promptly
  • Helping to ensure the Club is clean and presentable before functions and events
  • Working alongside the wider Club team during busy periods

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly and approachable
  • Hardworking with a good eye for detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proud of maintaining high standards
  • Comfortable working in a busy hospitality environment
  • Flexible when required, particularly around events and busy sailing periods

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience would be an advantage, but the right attitude and willingness to work to our standards are equally important.
