To provide a high standard of care for all animals in care at Bohemia Boarding
Job Description
Cleaning
- Clean, disinfect and maintain a high standard of cleanliness of animal accommodation within the Home and Clinic. Follow agreed procedures using barrier nursing methods where needed.
- General tidying and cleaning of all areas within, and as appropriate around the full site.
- Empty bins into corresponding wheelie bins, ensuring that all waste products and recyclable items are correctly disposed of.
- Carry out laundry tasks
Care
- Ensure ‘handover/ white board’ is kept up to date and followed at all times.
- Ensure animal housing cards are kept up to date with cleaning information
- On a daily basis fill out all required paperwork, update diaries and report any new information to the staff member in charge.
- Report any concerns with the animals to your Bohemia Boarding Manager or the Animal Centre manager in their abscence as soon as possible.
- Respect all ‘animal care signs’ and traffic light grading.
General
- Promote good working relationships across the whole organisation
- Remain calm and be courteous and considerate at all times towards colleagues, customers and volunteers.
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings.
- Attend training sessions and courses.
- Ensure basic hygiene standards are met at all times and increased in times of crisis or outbreaks.
- Train and support volunteers.
- Undertake stock control
- Comply fully with all Health and Safety and Safe Working Practise requirements.

- It is a requirement that all Bohemia Boarding employees have an empathy with the aims and objectives of the RSPCA Isle of Wight branch, as outlined in the Policies on Animal Welfare booklet.
In addition, it is a requirement that employees adhere to the policies and protocols of Bohemia boarding to ensure that a consistent approach to animal care and welfare is maintained.

Salary: £10,700
Hours: 17.5 hours per week worked on a rota, including weekend work, working 3.5 hour shifts to cover the hours of 9am to 12.30pm, on any day of the week.
(Rotas and shift patterns could be changed, with reasonable notice, at any time)
