Wedding & Events On the Day Coordinator
Part time- Approx 16 hours per wedding/event - A minimum of 40 events per year.
Zero hours contract.

Job role
East Afton Farmhouse, an award-winning wedding and events venue located in the scenic
West Wight, is seeking a dedicated On-the-Day Event Coordinator to oversee a variety of
events at our beautiful venue.
In this role, you will work closely with our Venue Manager and Supervisor to ensure each
event runs seamlessly. Due to the nature of the role, hours and days will vary depending on
the event schedule. Advance notice of shifts will be provided wherever possible.
Duties
- Coordinating and managing weddings and events on the day, including emceeing.
- Welcoming guests to the venue.
- Managing the sound system on site to play music when required throughout the day.
- Ensuring that our policies, and procedures are adhered to and high standards are
maintained by all of the team, including external suppliers and staff.
- Problem-solving and preparing for contingencies.
- Communicating with suppliers.
- Maintaining relationships with third parties, communicating with suppliers with
regards to set up, take down, timings and logistics.
- Assisting the bar staff when required.
- Operating the till system and processing card payments.
- Assisting with set up of the event and pre-planning when required.
- Working alongside the Venue manager and Supervisor with the overseeing of staff,
and delegating tasks.
- Working to a schedule and understanding the necessity of adapting if required.
Essential Requirements, Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate must:
- Hold a UK driving license and have access to your own vehicle.
- Have experience working in the hospitality industry.
- Be organised, proactive, professional, quick thinking.
- Be compassionate, friendly, welcoming, relatable and understanding.
- Be flexible. Due to the nature of the role and the variety of events and weddings.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a Personal License.
- Follow all Health and Safety, Fire Safety and First Aid procedures. Training will be
provided.
Desirable Requirements, Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have:
- A positive and upbeat attitude, sustaining morale during long shifts.
- Previous knowledge of weddings/events organisation.
- Previous experience of bar work, including knowledge surrounding cleaning lines.
