This is a unique opportunity to join a trendy, upmarket and vibrant boutique in the centre of Ryde.
Established 19 years ago, Bouchic offers a curated range of fashion, accessories, homeware, furniture, and gifts from well-loved brands including Orla Kiely, Maileg, Jellycat, and Moomins.
Bouchic has a loyal customer base both in the UK and internationally through their web-based orders.
Rather excitingly and due to business growth, Bouchic are now looking for an enthusiastic Retail apprentice to join the team.
Apprentice Role and Responsibilities will include:
· Dealing with customer enquiries and requests.
· Selling products to customers.
· Using the till to process customer transactions.
· Using visual merchandising techniques to create attractive product displays that enhance the boutique’s appeal and maximise sales.
· Assisting with stocktaking.
· Pricing products.
· Gift wrapping products at the point of sale for customers.
· Preparing and packaging customer orders through either web or mail order.
· Maintaining a clean and tidy store environment to uphold high standards of presentation.
· Steaming clothing to ensure brand standards are kept and maintained.
· Maintaining attractive product displays to create an inviting and engaging shopping experience for customers.
· Assisting with in-store promotions, managing social media content, and helping design marketing materials including leaflets.
· Updating the website.
· Willing and enthusiastic to get involved in all day-to-day tasks.
· Full training will be provided.

The successful candidate will be passionate about fashion and have a good knowledge of seasonal trends to ensure customers receive the best experience both instore and online.
Essential Skills and Qualities:
· Good communication skills.
· Flexible.
· IT skills – confident in using different packages.
· Some manual handling of products will be involved so the ideal candidate will be fit and healthy.
· Good time management and punctuality skills are essential for the role.
· Excellent organisation skills.
· Fast learner.
· Willing to learn.
· Computer literate.
· Trustworthy.
· Ability to maintain customer and business confidentiality.
· A passion for fashion and awareness of current trends.
The successful candidate will be subject to completion of a DBS check.
Qualifications Required:
GCSE grade C/4 or above in English & Maths is desirable (or equivalent qualification and/or ability to work towards these Functional Skills if not previously achieved).
Apprenticeship:
· Level 2 Retailer Apprenticeship.
· Functional Skills in Maths and English if required.
· There is a requirement to complete off the job training, this includes time spent either learning something new, time spent completing homework assignments, other internal courses or any support work that is not in your usual role.
Working Week:
· Between 25 to 40 hours per week.
· Typically, 10am to 5pm.
· Saturday work will be expected and will be discussed during the interview process.
Wage:
· £7.55 per hour.
Additional information:
The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £7.55 per hour. This applies to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies in the second year of the apprenticeship.
