An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as an apprentice at Stella Developments Southern Ltd, with up to four apprenticeship positions available across a range of construction trades.

Your day will include:
• Developing skills relevant to your chosen trade, to support the team in a variety of projects
• Understanding health and safety requirements and other relevant legislation and Codes of Practice.
• Being supported by your supervisor and a mentor.
• Attending college and completing all course work on time and to a high standard.
• You’ll have the chance to work on unique, bespoke projects across the Isle of Wight and South Coast.

What do we expect to see from you?
This is a starting role, so we don’t need qualifications or experience… that’s what we’re here for. But there are a few key behaviours and skills we want to see from our candidates; and these are ones that if you possess and can demonstrate; you will make this apprenticeship a real success!
• Teamwork: Work collaboratively, foster a positive and supportive team environment, and assist colleagues across different trades when required.
• Company Policies: Strictly adhere to all company policies, including Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Use of Company Property, and Drug & Alcohol rules.
• Safety & PPE: Follow safe systems of work, wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, and inspect tools and equipment prior to use.
• Communication: Maintain clear communication with site management and report any hazards, defects, accidents, or site delays immediately.
• A driving licence would be mandatory for the role.
Apprenticeship Standards:
Up to four apprenticeship positions are available across the following trades:
• Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard.
• Bricklayer Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard.
• Painter and Decorator Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard.
• Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
Please make sure your covering letter clearly states which trade is your main area of interest. You may express an interest in more than one trade, but please identify your preferred/main area of interest when applying.
• Functional Skills in Maths and English are required and if not previously achieved GCSE grade 4/C or above.
• Alongside your practical daily work, you’ll take part in off-the-job training hours—dedicated time within your working week to develop your knowledge, skills, and behaviours through any new/online learning and attendance at The Isle of Wight College.
• Weekly attendance at The Isle of Wight College as part of the apprenticeship.
Working Week:
• Up to 40 hours per week dependant on age.
• Monday - Friday
Wage:
• £8.00 per hour
About you:
You must be someone who is very keen to learn and is fully dedicated to attending work and college as required.
Driving licence allowing travel to site as required.

We are looking for applicants who have a genuine interest in developing a career within construction and who are keen to learn and develop their skills within their chosen trade.
